PHOTO OF THE WEEK #46 - Ball Hockey

Last week on Mother's Day I got to watch one of Ben's ball hockey games.  I even got a few pictures where it looks like he's actually getting in there to get the ball!  (He's #9 - Orange)

PROMOTIONS: Yes, it's true! I'm heading to Beautiful B.C. in July!

This summer, a girlfriend of mine, who I haven't seen in WAY too long, is getting married.  That means I'll be heading out to my home Province of Beautiful British Columbia!

I won't be heading 'home', but will be making my first stop in Surrey.  I have a lot of family in the Vancouver area.  My mom is heading up to the Coast to meet us so she can keep tabs on Ben while I'm up in Quesnel attending and photographing the wedding.  I can't wait!

I'll be out there for about 3 weeks in total, and would LOVE to shoot some Custom Photography sessions while I'm there.  I've created some specially priced packages just for this occasion.  If anyone is interested, please contact me for more information.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #45 - Capturing dinosaurs with his own camera

For the second week in a row I managed to take Ben to Wonderland.  Like I said.....I want to make sure we use those passes more this year than we did last.  May 6th was opening day at Wonderland.  I almost posted the picture of Ben getting measured for his height wristband.  He grew from the first time we went.  He was almost 54"!  It was so strange.  He had been saying all week that he was feeling a bit different and that he thought he got taller and sure enough......he probably grew at least an inch.  How is that possible?!  LOL

The girl working at the measuring station said that he might make it before the end of the summer.  Ben is soooo hoping he does.  He wants to go on the Leviathan so badly.....the behemouth as well.  He's been wanting to go on all of the 54" rides since he started going to Wonderland a few years ago.

For opening day, I paid for the new dinosaur attractions.  Ben loved them and he too his own camera that day.  He had so much fun video taping the moving dinosaurs.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #44 - No, I'm not too old for this

April 27th was the Season's Pass sneak preview night at Canada's Wonderland. Last year, we didn't go as often as I had hoped we would, so this year I'm determined to get more than our money's worth out of those passes. There's a really good chance that Ben might hit that magic 54" mark before the end of the summer too. He wants to ride the Behemoth and Leviathan so badly.

When we first got into the park, we ran into Charlie Brown. Ben went up to him and gave him a hug. When he was done, he said to me..."I thought I might be too big for that." So I asked him if he was. He said "No, I don't think so."

How could this not be my photo of the week from that week?! It was taken with my phone, so definitely not the highest quality image, but I love it just the same. :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #43 - A Moooose!

I'd been to Algonquin Park in the past, to camp, but the first time I went just to take photographs was with Daytripper Photo back in April 2009.  What a great trip!  And I went with Bryan again in 2010.

Last year I changed it up a bit and went with some friends.  That was a great trip.  No sunrise, unfortunately, as it was too cloudy.....but we saw 7 moose last year.  This year I went with friends again and Ben came with us too!  He bought his first camera with his very own money just after Christmas, so he didn't have to borrow one of mine.

I took quite a few photos on our trip that I really like, but even though the moose is all scraggly looking......I have to say that the moose is my choice for my Photo of the Week for last week.  I was worried that Ben wouldn't get to see a real live moose and would be very disappointed.  But even when we hadn't seen one by the time we had our picnic lunch, he said he was having a great time.

I wish I would have had time to get a picture of Ben photographing the moose, but the moose didn't stick around for very long.  This was the only moose we saw.  If you look closely, you can see some of the snowflakes that were falling that day.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #42 - It's A Pass!

I was a bit worried that I had forgotten to take a photo last week, but I found a few on my phone.  The options I had to pick from were pretty slim......  There were a few of the cat that our neighbour found (who was returned to her family..YAY!) that I had taken to make a quick poster to post online and in town .  There were a couple of Maggie looking out the window beside the front door, longing to go out and play with Ben and his friend.  And then there was this one.....

Great job Ben!! :)

These are the eggs that Ben coloured for Easter.  He doesn't get too fancy.  He just likes to have a lot of different colour eggs.  I think he accomplished that!  :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #40 - Vintage Collage Frame

If you've been following along for a while now, you'll know that I love doing square collages for my newborn and children sessions.  I've even done my 'Faces' collages for some 'Picture Your Sweet & Sassy Self' sessions.

I've recently started to offer handmade, vintage frames from a Canadian supplier.  I bought a sample to use to show clients.  Here is a quick photograph of it that I took a week ago.  I purchased a black one for myself, but the frames come in a wide range of colours, sizes and shapes.

I love this one. :)  It's pictured here with a version of my 'Faces, Feet, Fingers Newborn Collage'.
