CLIENT SHOOTS - Bethany & Jonah

I have really been neglecting my blog lately.  So to rectify that, I'm sharing some images of a beautiful young couple that I took before they went off to their Prom last week.

Bethany's dress was so beautiful and she looked doubly beautiful in it.  And Jonah looked pretty handsome too!  :)

Here is a slideshow of their images and a few of my favourites.  I've been waiting to use this song for a client for sooooo long!

Wishing Bethany and Jonah the best of luck and good fortune as they continue the journey through their lives post high school.  :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #28 - Happy New Year!

My little party animal.  xoxo

This was taken just before 1:30am on January 1st.  Staying up to ring in the New Year is tough work.  :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #27 - Beautiful Ice

It's amazing how something so beautiful can also be so destructive.  We had so much ice this past winter that it was too much for some of the trees to bear.  We got off lucky on our property.  We lost a few trees and others were damaged, but nothing fell on our house or vehicles.  At one point, the branches from the trees that line the driveway were so heavy that they were bending inwards and I could barely fit through the gap while walking, never mind driving a car!

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #26 - Doughnuts Anyone?

The week prior to Christmas is always a busy one.  It's the last week of school and there's all the preparations for Christmas to finish up.  We also had a party to go to.  I made mini DOUGHNUTS!

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #25 - Cutting his first tree

We went to Albion Orchards to pick up some apples and ended up also getting our Christmas tree there.  It was Ben's first time doing the sawing.  Hard work!  And it turned out to be our biggest tree ever!!

MY CLIENTS - I Love Faces :)

I photographed the little girl in the first 'Faces' Collage during her first year.  She had THE-MOST- AWESOME faces every session.  The second 'Faces' Collage is from her little sister's recent 9 month session.  She really did a great job showing her big sister how it's done.  :)

I love these girls!  :)

PERSONAL - Family Day Weekend!

We enjoyed a long weekend in Ontario this past weekend.  'Family Day' long weekend.  Our family 'celebrating' actually began on the Friday evening with a special Valentine's dinner that I made.  Well....the dinner was a yummy Garlic Shrimp Pasta that I often make.  The desserts were new though.  Mmmm

Saturday was tobogganing for Ben and Paul at the local Conservation Area with friends.  The hill is much larger than our little hill in the front yard, so much more walking back up it once you go down.

Sunday was spent with friends in Elora.  There was a Father/Son hockey game (the old fashioned, 'Canadian' way) and the Mom's did some window shopping in town (OK....I bought something for $9...but it was on sale!).  Then a yummy dinner.  Was a fun day!

And Monday was more of a stay at home day.  I made a turkey dinner.  Yum!  Lots of work to clean up though.  But now there are lots of leftovers and I'll be making some soup this week!

Here are a few pictures from Sunday.

I hope everyone else had a great time with family and friends this weekend.

Week 24 brought the Tottenham Santa Claus Parade.  It's always fun to watch the parade.  In case you missed my earlier post about the parade, you can find it here:  http://www.pictureyourlifephotography.blogspot.ca/2014/01/personal-2013-tottenham-santa-claus.html

It's nice that he's not too old to still.....hug a piece of pizza?  LOL  :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #19 - Halloween!

It was difficult to choose which Halloween photo to use for the Photo of the Week.  I always like to try and get the neighbourhood kids in the studio on Halloween before the trick or treating begins.  They all looked fantastic.  One of Ben's friends came along with him this year.  How could I not use this photo for this week....

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #18 - Pumpkins!

Unfortunately, I only have a bad phone picture of this.  But, it's more about the event and the memories than the actual photo.

We usually go every year to this place near home to pick out our pumpkins.  Ben was not in a very good mood that day to have his picture taken.  But he humoured me....somewhat.  :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #16 - One of his favourite foods

While in BC, Ben was able to consume a lot of one of his favourite foods.  Cucumber sushi rolls!!  He had a favourite sushi restaurant, just down the street from the hospital.  Our Uncle Butch introduced him to it when he took him there for lunch to give him a break from the hospital waiting room.  They were really nice there and when I took Ben a couple of times after that, they remembered him and asked how his Uncle was doing in the hospital.  I'm not sure if it was the quantity of cucumber rolls he always ordered, or his long hair that made him most memorable.  ;)  hehe

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #15 - On a Plane

Week #15 in year 5 of my 'Photo of the Week' project, found me on a plane bound for BC.  It was an unexpected trip to see my brother, who was in the hospital at the time, and the only camera I took was my phone.

I always love seeing the mountain view from the plane when flying back to my home Province.

PERSONAL - 2013 Tottenham Santa Claus Parade

I'm always so slow with processing my personal photos.  But just over a month isn't too bad for me actually....LOL

Every year we go to the Santa Claus Parade in town.  It's usually cold and windy, but if you dress for the weather, it's not that bad.

This time, just before the first sign of the parade could be seen, the snow blew in like a blizzard!  And then.....just as that first police car and fire truck came down the street, the snow disappeared.  Perfect timing.

I always take WAY too many pictures. I can't help it.  So I know this is long, but if you're local, you might see someone you know!  :)

CLIENT SHOOTS - Daddy's a Firefighter

I featured this little precious bundle in my newsletter last year and on my Facebook Page, but didn't blog about her.  I loved doing this session so much!  Daddy is a Firefighter, so we had a lot of fun with that theme.

These are some of my favourite images that we created during the session.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #14 - Terry Fox Run

Ben runs every year in the Terry Fox Run at school.  Raising money for cancer research is important to him and the rest of the family so he always raises quite a bit.  I'm very proud of him for taking the run seriously always trying his hardest.  The distance gets further as he's gotten older and he hasn't complained (at least not to me....haha).

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #13 - Cool Gifts

When I posted this photo on my Facebook timeline, one of my cousins made this comment:
This picture reminds me of Uncle Pete "hovering" over us when we were kids trying to get his hands on the cool gifts he gave us!
How fitting that these were given to Ben by Aunt Phyllis.  :)

This will only mean anything to my family and some of my friends, but that's what makes it my 'Photo of the Week' for week 13.
