Waiting for Christmas is a tough thing for a little fella. Luckily, Daddy downloaded some new games for his iPodTouch and someone discovered them.....

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #24 - When did he get so big?!

This is from my office kid's Christmas party last weekend. Not the best image technically, but is here in my 'photo of the week' section because it gets me emotionally.

When I saw this picture I couldn't believe how big he's gotten! Look at those legs hanging down along side Santa's..... The top of his head, level with Santa's eyes..

When the heck did that happen?!?!

What do you want for Christmas?

He keeps telling me he's a 'big boy' now. Maybe he's right!!

Thanks for looking!!

WEEKEND COMICS: What The Duck

Wow, I can't believe I haven't done a blog post all week. It's always such a busy time and I have so much to blog about too! Hopefully I'll catch up once things settle down a bit from Christmas. In the meantime....enjoy the comic. :)

I always wondered what to do with all of that 'stuff'....... heehee

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #23 - Waiting For Santa

The photo of the week for week #23 comes from last weekend. It was the Annual Santa Claus Parade in Tottenham where we live. It's your typical small town parade....short, sweet and of course, everyone is local. Lots of fire trucks!! :)

I didn't take my camera out that day. It was quite cold and I don't like having it out in the cold for long periods of time. I'm just paranoid! So we used hubby's Panasonic Lumix point and shoot. Perfect for when lugging my DSLR around isn't desirable.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #22 - 50mm 1:1.4

I took a brief break last week and played around a bit with my 50mm 1:1.4 lens that I bought several months ago. I didn't leave my office and I was just using my SB800 on the camera so I could get some light (my office is rather dark - which I prefer for photo editing).

I wanted to play around a bit with the depth of field, so I got the strap that's on my other camera and decided to find out at what f-stop I would need to use in order to get most of the text on the camera strap to be in focus. It's amazing how shallow the DOF is when you're at 1.4!!

So here's where I ended up at:

My shutter speed was at 1/250 sec (for all the shots I took I kept this the same)
f-stop was at f3.20
ISO = 200 (for all the shots I took I kept this the same)

I was actually shooting with my D700, so that's my D80 in the background.

f2.5 actually wasn't that bad. Only one or so of the letters was out of focus. At f2.2, about 3 of the letters were out of focus.

Anyhow.....a boring shot for most of you, but a bit of fun playing around for me. ;)

Thanks for looking!!
