CLIENT SHOOTS: A few more maternity & First Communion photos :)

I just can't resist showing a few more shots from a recent maternity session and last weekend's First Communion session.

I can't wait to do the newborn session for this couple. :)

And I am so lucky to get to photograph this little girl and her family. Such happy times! :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to look :)

CLIENT SHOOTS: J's First Communion

Last Sunday's First Communion session reminded me how quickly the time goes. I can't believe that I took this picture of J way back over 7 years ago!

Over 7 years ago?!?! Are you kidding me?? Already?

Now look at her....growing up right before our very eyes....

She looked like a real life little princess with her beautiful dress with the lace and beading and her tiara.

Life flashes by us so quickly and our children grow up soooo fast. I really can't believe it sometimes. This is the reason I love photography. It's a way in which to freeze some of those moments in our lives to help us remember. We hit so many different milestones as we grow older and it's so much more apparent as we watch our children grow up.

Even if you don't capture those moments with the help of a professional photographer, do try and capture them. You won't regret it!

Thank you so much Chris & Samantha for the opportunity to share in these special times with your family.  I hope you liked your sneak peak. :)

Thanks for looking.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #42: It's a Moose!!

It was difficult again for me to pick a photo for this week. I had shots of cute little girls all dressed up fancy, beautiful sunrises, reflections on water, waterfalls, various flora.....but in the end, it was the Moose who won out. :)

"Are you STILL taking pictures?"

It was another great trip with Daytripper Photo up to Algonquin Park.

I chose this particular moose photo because of the look the moose is giving us. It really looks like it's getting a bit tired of being our model. ;)

I hope to have a full blog post with photos from the trip by the end of the weekend.

Thanks for looking! :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #41: Baby Belly

Sorry for being so late with posting the photo of the week from last week. Time just flew by way to quickly!

I had a great maternity session last week. You can tell that the Mommy & Daddy to be are excited and I can't help but be excited as well! And I can't wait to photograph the new baby.

I had several favourites from the session that made the short list for my 'Photo of the Week'. Some were just of Mommy to be and some were with both of them. I even had one I liked that was just the baby belly :)

But in the end, this is the one I liked the best (and Mommy & Daddy to be liked it as well) :)

CLIENT SHOOTS: Maternity Sneak Peak

I had the opportunity today to do a maternity session with Brenda (& her husband Jim). She is a gorgeous Mommy to be and the two of them are going to be great parents! :) It's so exciting!!

I have a lot of photos to go through, but wanted to post this quick sneak peak.

We tossed in a bit of my coloured fabrics for some of the shots and of course there are also the bare belly shots :) But not tonight. Soon though ;)

Brenda & Jim, thanks so much for allowing me to photograph you today and to share in such a special time in your lives.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #40 - A Tranquil Morning

What a great week last week was for taking photos. The weather out was fantastic so I spent more time outdoors. I got to catch the sunrise with my 6 year old. We had an extra 'stay home day' and did our usual Easter weekend activities. I even squeezed in a last minute newborn photo session. So many photo opportunities, so little time!

I still have a few more to post from the weekend in the 'Photography for Fun' category, but I do have a favourite from the week for my 'Photo of the Week'. The reason I've chosen this one is because I drive by this spot every day on my way to my 'day' job and I've been dying to stop there with my camera. And the shot I got, was exactly how I pictured it would be and I basically just had to convert it from RAW to JPG format and that was it!!

PHOTOGRAPHY FOR FUN: More from Easter Weekend

It always seems like you wait forever for the sunrise to 'start' and then it rises up so quickly! Here's another couple shots of the sunrise as it's rising.

A little bit higher....

And higher still....

Hmmmm what could he be taking a picture of??

Yes, there's more to come from our gorgeous Easter weekend of family fun! Hopefully I'll get it posted before the weekend is done.

Thanks for looking. :)

PHOTOGRAPHY FOR FUN: Out to catch the sunrise - sneak peak

It's Good Friday today. An extra 'stay home' day. Woohoo!

This morning my 6 yr old and I got an early start to the day and went out to 'catch the sunrise'. Here's a sneak peak....

"Look! The moon looks like an egg, Mommy"

Took a pic of a broken down old barn while we waited

Making sure he's all set up

"Here it comes!!"

I'll post a few more over the weekend.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #39 - Textured Tree

I love trees. Whether it's textures or colours, they always have something interesting going on. Birch trees are probably one of my favourites to take photos of. Here's a shot of one from our front yard.
