Last week I headed up to Alliston for the Grand Opening of the Second Stage Housing Program at 'My Sister's Place'.
Not too long before I left home, it was POURING rain! This event was happening outdoors, so I was really hoping the rain would pass over before the start. And it did! :)
Here is an excerpt from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) News Release:
"ALLISTON, ON, October 14, 2011 — The Government of Canada, through Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and People in Transition (Alliston) Inc., My Sister’s Place, celebrated the grand opening of five new second-stage housing units for women and children who are victims of family violence in Alliston and the surrounding area.
Dr. Kellie Leitch, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and to the Minister of Labour and, Member of Parliament for Simcoe – Grey, on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and Minister Responsible for CMHC, and Deborah Herrington, Executive Director of People in Transition (Alliston) Inc., My Sister’s Place, made the announcement."
