Last weekend was the playoffs for hubby's ball league, and the team he is a Co-Captain of really kicked some butt! They ran the table and didn't lose a game.
When I saw this photo as I was reviewing the ones I took of the Championship game, I knew it would be my favourite. It was taken seconds after the last out of the final inning.
Congratulations to the Beer Bros!!

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #11 - Paying Attention
Well, a week ago was Ben's ball league's season ending tournament. His team was awesome this year. The team was a mixture of kids who had never played ball before, had been playing since T-ball, girls, boys and one who was too young for the division but was an amazing player (and I think paid the most attention on the field!). But with all of the practicing the coaches did with them, along with the support of their parents, all of the kids improved in all aspects of the game.....even in the paying attention part. haha (...which is important if you don't want to get hit by the ball or if you want to make some great plays!)
By the end of the season they were hitting well, making some plays in the field and I think Ben was even running a wee bit faster around the bases. He felt bad during one game when he got a player out at second base who was from the T-ball division as she was filling in a spot on the Jr. B. team they were playing against.
Ben's team went 14-2 in the regular season. The games during the final weekend tournament were great games and really fun to watch. They ended up not only coming in first in the season, but also at the tournament. It's the first time for Ben, so was quite exciting. And.....it was also the first time I had ever missed the awards ceremony where they got their trophies, as I had to work. I did ask Paul to take some pictures with Ben's camera, which he did........... I gave him a 6 out of 10 for quality and Ben gave him a 1 or 2 I think. LOL It's not entirely Paul's fault though, as Ben had some funky setting on his camera and wouldn't change it. But even though a lot of the photos are blurry, you can still see the big smiles on all of the kid's faces. :)
So here's a picture from the tournament where it actually looks like Ben is paying attention. I'm sure he can hear coach Ted's voice from the outfield.... "Eyes on the ball, glove in front, pay attention" Heck! He even looks like a ball player in this photo. LOL

CLIENT SHOOTS - Club Vallelonga Monserrato Golf Tournament
Back in August I had the pleasure of shooting a golf event for Club Vallelonga Monserrato. The tournament was held at Glen Eagle Golf Club in Caledon. The day turned out to be beautiful, weather wise. Ginette Stone came out to do assist with the shooting as well as the onsite editing. It was such a pleasure working with her.
We took shots of the golfers teeing off as well as putting and searching for balls in the tall grass. I provided a slideshow video for the organizers to play during the dinner and the golfers were able to download their favourite photos from a private online gallery the next day.
Here are a few shots from that day.

CLIENT SHOOTS - A beautiful day for a wedding
It turned out to be a fabulous day for a wedding in the Schomberg area late August. The wedding took place on an absolutely gorgeous property.
I really love smaller, more intimate weddings, and everything about the day was perfect. There were even purple martinis to go along with the colour theme!
I had the pleasure of having Ginette Stone shooting with me again, who I really enjoy working with. Here are a few of the highlights from the afternoon.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #10 - My little baseball player
Baseball season is almost over for both Paul and Ben. Because of our trip to BC, Ben missed a few more games this summer than he normally would, but he still improved quite a bit over last year. He had some great coaches and they did a lot of practice, which I think really helped. Plus.....he's finally almost old enough to actually pay attention for most of the game. ;)
Last week I took his team's photos. For the League, I do a composite that includes the individual and team photo in one 8x10. But for my photo of the week, here is Ben's individual photo.
Their closing tournament is this weekend, but the Saturday games were rained out. Hopefully Sunday will be a better weather day at the diamonds.

CLIENT SHOOTS: A Wedding in Quesnel, BC
I'm finally starting to catch up on my blog posting. This summer I was able to make the trip to BC for my friend's wedding. I hadn't seen her in YEARS, so it was great to reconnect and to be able to photograph this special day for her.
It was a wedding filled with a lot of unexpected happenings throughout the planning process and even that day.... but in the end, it was a beautiful ceremony, with family and friends looking on. A lot of fun was had by all at the reception that evening and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it.
Congratulations Kristy and Jim. I hope you have many, many years of happiness. :)
Here are a few memories from the wedding.

PERSONAL: First Day of Grade 4
Ahhhh finally. The first day of school. This summer was extra hectic and crazy and I feel like I'm so behind with everything. I think the agenda for next summer will be to plan to do less!
It figures the first day of school would be gloomy and rainy with thunder booming in the background. I prefer to take his first day of school photo outside, while he's waiting for the bus, but we opted to keep my camera dry today.
I don't think I'm the only one who is happy to get back into somewhat of a routine. A few minutes ago, I caught Maggie, laying on her bed, on her back, with a smile on her face. I think she'll miss Ben during the day though.
I hope everyone is enjoying their first day of school. My task for today is to get re-organized both personally and professionally. I can't think straight with the house and my office in such a state of chaos. If my afternoon is as productive as the morning has been, then I should make some good headway today. :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #9 - Taking a Break
Ben has helped me out from time to time on photo shoots......for about 5 minutes. Then he'd get bored. This time, he had an 'official' shirt and clipboard and he took his job seriously. :)
Here he is from just over a week ago (yes, I'm a day late in getting this post up again) taking a break from helping me photograph the Tottenham Minor Softball teams.
Thanks Ben!! :)
Thanks for looking!
And I hope I will be on a more regular schedule of posting, etc. now that school starts up again this week!! :)
