CLIENT SHOOTS: Addison is 3 months!

It was hard to believe that Addison's 3 month session was this past weekend. I was so excited to get to see her again. You can see her newborn sneak peak from 3 months ago here.

She has a favourite dolly. Isn't she just the cutest thing?? All pink and squishy..... :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #38: My Baby??

Ben was kind enough to help me get my home studio space organized last week during March break. Then he helped me test it out. Those of you who follow my Facebook businses page saw this one already. Where has my baby gone??

My Baby?

It's funny....sometimes he really looks a lot like my brother. Maybe it's the way he stands.

Thanks for looking.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Something Fun Coming Soon.....

I was so happy to get my home studio space moved up from the basement. Our basement does not have high ceilings at all. Low ceilings make me sad. So being on the main floor, where the ceiling height is 'normal', makes me very happy. :) Thanks so much to hubby Paul and to Ben for their help in getting my new space organized (and for letting me take over the TV room) and to Al for helping hang the doors and moving some of the furniture.

I was even more excited to have the space ready for this past Sunday's trial session of something fun I'm hoping clients and potential clients will like. :)

Here are some 'behind the scenes' photos from Sunday. (Thanks Bill & Ben for taking some pictures of me taking pictures of Sue) :)

Excuse the messy background. Yes, I'm already complaining that I wish I had more space in my studio. LOL I guess I'm never satisfied! But I AM happy :)) See that steamer in the background?? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my steamer. I couldn't imagine having to iron all of those fabric pieces!

Thanks to Debbie, Sue, Veronica and Cynthia for an awesome session!!

Stay tuned for more info and some shots of the final product soon!

Thanks for looking. :)

PERSONAL: Field Trip to the Tiffen Centre

I went on my first field trip since high school! I haven't ridden on a school bus since 1987 and I swear the seats have gotten smaller. LOL Well, perhaps the school busses in Ontario aren't the same as the ones in BC. ;)

Ben even wanted me to sit with him on the way up so I got this close up of his face.

Hellooooo!!

The kids watched a video on surviving in the wilderness and then they got to make their own little survival kit. Ben's going to take his camping this summer.

Making a Survival Kit

Outside, the kids tried to convince the chickadees to stop by for some seeds. It was the quietest they were the whole day! There were a few birds who came nearby, but none were brave enough to actually land on any of the kid's hands to get the seeds. I love the photos I have of the whole group standing out there with their arms out, waiting...and waiting... :)

Waiting.....

We learned about how the sap was collected back in the 'olden days'.

Two Types of Cuts

Next we learned about how the water was boiled off. Most of the liquid that comes from the Sugar Maples is water, so there's lots to boil off.

Boiling off the Water

There were many of these shiney buckets hanging off the trees as we walked around the property.

Collection Bucket

Our last stop was inside what I think was called the 'Sugar Shack'. These days they don't use big pots on top of fire pits to boil off the water. Today the water is evaporated off indoors in big tanks.

Almost Ready

It was so nice to be able to go on the field trip (my first one with Ben!). My group of kids were great! It was even nice to have to pack my lunch (haven't done that in a while either).

Thanks Ben and Mrs. Santo for having me on your trip as a volunteer :)

Thanks for looking!

PERSONAL: Sitting This Round Out

I decided to sit this round of the Bissell MVP Photo contest out. I was late getting a photo submitted (it slipped my mind because of March break I think) and we would have lost a day while the photo was being approved.

Thanks to everyone who has been voting. :)

I couldn't resist posting a few pictures here for you though.

I don't know how Ben can let her do this to him! Yuck!!

"It's Snowing Out! And I can see my boy out there playing...without me!!"

I'm pretty sure that tongue just 'got' him

I'm a bit behind on some things this week. Having Ben home with me for March break is definitely interesting. I'm not getting as much work done as I hoped I would. He's been pretty good though. He and Maggie have been 'helping' me get my 'new' studio space ready. Sometimes they are more helpful than others. It's starting to come together though. Woot! So exciting :) The doors I ordered to block off the room from the dog and cat (and anyone else who shouldn't be going in there) are scheduled to arrive Friday.

I'll post some photos once it's all done.

Thanks for looking! :)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK #36: "Mmm Chewy & Gooey"

There's a bit of a story behind this one.....

I had bought this HUGE box of Froot Loops as a treat for the 'boys'. (Hubby LOVES Fruit Loops!) haha :)

Ben noticed on the box that it had a Rice Krispie square inside. I told him that he could have it in his lunch once we 'found' it. I'd surprise him with it.

Well....should have told hubby. We were getting nearer to the end of the box so I figured Ben had waited long enough and went to get the square to put into his lunch that day. Hmmmm where did it go? It wasn't in the box anymore.

After a bit of investgative work, I discovered that hubby had eaten it. Ooops. So to make up for it, I told Ben we could make our own. This was his first time making Rice Krispie Squares 'by himself'. He did pretty well for himself, except for the part where you flatten it in the pan. ;)

PERSONAL: Round 9 Starts Today!

I swear the weeks are going by faster than normal right now! Another round in the BISSELL MVP Photo Contest starts today.

Here is Maggie's new voting link: PLEASE VOTE FOR MAGGIE

There are 12 rounds of voting to try and get into the finals, so we don't have many chances left to try and win that $10,000 donation for Aussie Rescue. Please vote every day and spread the word to your friends/family and the dog lovers you know.

"If I just hang my tongue casually to the side, maybe I can still get a lick in without anyone noticing...."

Thanks for looking and for voting.

PERSONAL: We're still trying to win $$ for Aussie Rescue....Time for Round 8!

Yes, we're still trying to win some money for Aussie Rescue!!

Round 8 starts today. I actually got the image in yesterday so I don't have to wait until later today to post the link!!

Here's the link to Maggie's new voting photo: BISSELL MVP CONTEST LINK

Of course, we also have a photo for you to look at here as well :)

"If I show you how fluffy my tummy is, will you vote for me?"

Remember, we're trying to get hundreds and hundreds of votes during the voting period to qualify for the finals. There's no way for us to know how close or far away we are since they had to remove the vote count from showing, but back in round 3 or so, we would have needed about 1300+ votes or so. My guess is we need more than that now. There aren't many rounds left. Please pass the word along to your friends.
